Problems with Vipre Crashing and automatic repair loops
After installing 10.7.X all viper clients are crashing and many Windows 10 clients get stuck in automatic repair loops.

Anyone else with this problem?

We haven't upgraded to version 10 yet (still on 9.6), we were thinking of jumping to this new version that was released two days ago (10.0.7233) but may await to hear if others have the above issue.

I've been dealing with a similar issue since last friday with a fresh install of Viper Endpoint v9.6. Even after moving to v10 the device continues to do a repair loop/restore. Support has been little help. The only support advice after 5 days was update to version 10 (see issue below with that) and constantly asking for logs that were already inside the uploaded diagnostic zip file. I ended up having to install a competitors product as the laptop had to be re-deployed.
I have also had an issue with Viper console 10 updating .Net to 4.6. v10's install log reports that the Registry key was successful written for the Spector/Meltdown issue, but when looking in the Registry its not present. Without the key, Microsoft does not offer two important .Net updates to 4.6 that fix issues with legacy application that use .Net (Backup Exec 15 in my case) this results in app Kernel crashing after updating to v10. None of the end points (I have 70 of them) that received the updated v10 agent have the key written despite the install log stating it was. All end points are in a domain so it may be a GP issue.

More Info. What I'm starting to see is USB devices starts to malfunction. Had 4 computer where the USB stopped allowing new devices to be plugged in and reboot sent it to the automatic repair loops. 1 Computer USB stopped all together after update to 10.0.7233.
There is a lot of errors during the install of the VIPRE. Event logs Under System, Kernel-PNP, Event ID 225
The application System with process id 4 stopped the removal or ejection for the device ACPI_HALPNP0C080.
The application DeviceHarddiskVolume4WindowsSystem32svchost.exe with process id 6296 stopped the removal or ejection for the device SCSIDisk&Ven_WDC&Prod_WD5000AAKX-75U6A4&57848b2&0&000000.

I'm looking more into the Event Logs and during the install of Vipre I get a flood of errors of 'The application System with process id 4 stopped the removal or ejection for the device ACPI_HALPNP0C080.' Kernel-PNP 225.
When those errors show up the next reboot bricks the system.

I'm curious, for those having issues with this new version of Vipre (10.0.7233) are you using Device Control? I know Device Control has been buggy in the past, but we don't use it so I'm wondering if we'd be fine upgrading due to the fact that we don't use it.

Any update on this? Just curious where this is at as we are interested in upgrading to version 10 of Vipre, but not if this will be an issue. We'll likely update our Console to version 10 and start testing this update out on select computers, but still curious about hearing a resolution to this before widely distributing the update.

I have updated all my end point with the exception of the laptop (2)
Turns out I have two Dell Vostro 3560 and both will crash and go into a repair loop

Agent version 10.0.7237 was just released, though I haven't seen any notes on what has changed yet.

Good to know! It would be great to either get release notes or someone from Vipre to chime in on what changed in 10.0.7237.

I agree. I had just updated all of our clients to 7233 and now I see version 7237 available. Are we going to be perpetually getting new versions every few weeks now?
Hi! I just did a fresh format and install of Windows 7 x64, the latest Intel mainboard drivers, ATI catalyst, mouse drivers, and all the Windows Updates and optional updates..but I still have 1 'Unknown Device' in my Device Manager. Disabling it seemingly does nothing, so right now it is currently disabled. Google searches on the info below doesn't turn up much...something to do with ACPI and WMI..
